Prototype of a stool
Supervised by Prof. Andreas Kramer
Two shifted parallelograms, spatially connected at the shorter ends. The emerging corners combined result in the SculptChair.
This simple idea is a stool, that fascinates and confuses at the same time. It challenges the spatial perception, offers a new aspect from every perspective, appears sculptural and is full of new possibilities, ideas and approaches. The implementation of simple Multiplex panels and the tongue-and-groove joint connection are supporting the simplicity of the idea.
A Prototype and advanced models of this stool were developed during a two week first semester workshop thaught by Prof. Andreas Kramer at the University of Arts Bremen. Our Assignment was to design a stool out of Multiplex panels, that dealt with the topic of our first semester: Connections.
